Nathan Kanne Artist Statement:
I'm Nathan.
I am an artist living in Richmond, VA.
Most of my work deals with generally being a jackass and outsmarting the people viewing the work. I like making art out of discarded material and garbage. I find beauty in the ugly and overlooked. But there is beauty in the beautiful, too. I'm only a painter or a sculptor or a tailor or a photographer when the concept or the art requires it.
Andrew Fiorillo Artist Statement:
Most of my work deals with the idea of relative perspective. My paintings and prints reference diagrams, blueprints, microscopic imaging, cell structure, architecture, and aerial photography. An individual element of a piece holds significance because of its relation to the elements that surround it. This idea is similar to how our lives only make sense in relation to what we have the ability to know, and in some form or another, interact with. Since what we have the ability to know is continually growing and changing through advancing technologies, so is our ability to understand our impact on our environments and their impact on us. It is this fluidity and chaotic order that I am after.
Photos will be posted after the event. Come to the show and your visage might be immortalized here forever.
